From Friday 29 October at 6pm, any student that has been fully vaccinated or has a medical exemption can attend campus. This includes students who would like to access campus for non-assessment purposes.
Please be aware that these restrictions are required by the Victorian Government, meaning we are unable to make exceptions to attend campus if students do not fulfill the requirements.

The Victorian Government has implemented a set of deadlines for staff and students to be vaccinated in order to return to campus.
How to submit your vaccination info
SAE is required to “collect, record and hold vaccination information” for everyone who comes on campus. This is in accordance with the public health orders outlined by the Victorian Government. Please refer to your student email on how to do this.
Attending campus
To attend campus, you must fulfil the Victorian Government’s guidelines and provide proof of vaccination. More information regarding this and any exemptions can be found in your student email.
In addition, travel exemption permits are still required until restrictions ease. Please also adhere to the COVIDSafe rules in place whilst on campus, and follow instructions from staff.

Sydney
SAE Sydney will start returning to practical lecture/tutorial delivery on campus from Monday 25 October 2021. Units deemed suitable for online delivery will remain online for the remainder of trimester 3. Your health and wellbeing are very important to us. Our return to campus is governed by a strict COVIDSafe plan. Adherence to the plan while on campus is a condition of entry.

Following the recent restrictions for the Lismore local government area, the NSW Government today announced stay-at-home restrictions for the Byron and Tweed local government areas commencing at 5pm today and finishing at this stage on Wednesday 29 September 2021.

On Saturday 17 July, the NSW Government announced changes to COVID-19 restrictions.
Campus access
In response to these changes the Sydney campus will be closed from today, Monday 19 July 2021, until at least Friday 30 July 2021. There will be no access to campus facilities during this period. The campus will reopen at 10am on Saturday 31 July 2021 unless advised otherwise.

The Queensland Government has announced a New South Wales border zone that will come into effect from 1am AEST Friday 23 July 2021.
Exceptions for border zone residents have been detailed by the government; this includes attending work and tertiary education. As such, any staff or students residing north of the border will still be permitted to attend campus, as the Byron campus is within the Border Zone. If you travel into NSW, outside of the Border Zone, you will need to submit a declaration to return to Queensland and likely quarantine for 14 days.

If there is a confirmed case of a student or staff member with COVID-19, the SAE student and teaching community will be informed as a priority. If you have been identified as a potential close contact of the positive case, then you will be contacted personally and provided with directions, in line with health department advice.
Our top priority is student and staff health and wellbeing, and we will continue to follow Federal and State authority advice. Flexible, blended delivery continues for select units. Students are welcome to come to campus to attend scheduled on-campus events and use available SAE computers, equipment and studios.
All students who attend campus must, as a condition of entry, log their attendance using the QR codes displayed on campus. Your COVID Safe for Students website has important information that will help you to understand your obligations on campus. It also has important information about:

– Equipment and studio access

– Lesson delivery and practical sessions
Assessment processes will remain the same. For modules that use holistic assessment, please ensure that you continue to participate in class, work on your projects and maintain your learning journals (if required for your module). SAE Faculty have been provided guidance on how to ensure we are making appropriate changes to assessment in order to address any challenges you or your peers face. Your facilitator will let you know in advance if any assessment changes are required, to maximise your progression and success in your course.
SAE will continue to follow the advice of health authorities and medical experts and share information as it is received. We recommend you check your student email on a daily basis for relevant updates. Rest assured, you will be notified via your student email or SMS of any urgent updates.
